The Seattle Space Needle is an artifact left over from the 1962 World's Fair (remember world's fairs?). A city landmark, the 1960's concept of modern design somehow makes the Space Needle look old-fashioned and out-of-date. Even so, it is a tourist attraction and when in Seattle one does the tourist thing and goes to the observation deck at the top of the tower. The view is hard to beat with both the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, Puget Sound, and the Seattle skyline.
